Have you taken out the trash?

Hello Vibers!
Welcome to the month of July!
You may have noticed it's been a pretty big week with Rock Your Vibe's first ever sale - 7 days of madness! It's been a lot of fun. Today's special is a 20% discount off our Vivant Creations range!

This month I've also started providing Daily Quotes, tips, ideas and links - as well as secret spot sales via Facebook, Twitter, my blog and RSS Feed - if you want to join the ride - the links are to the right!
On top of that I'm excited to reveal we are stocking an awesome new product range Wheelie Bin Stickers - they're Wheelie Cool! haha. They are such a great idea for making your bin look unique and to reflect your own special style!
The Wheelie Bin Stickers actually got me thinking and gave me the idea for this month's theme - Taking Out The Trash. Whether physically or emotionally - letting of the old, from your old clutter to deep emotional scars, is the only way to be truly open to a new and bright future. This months Vibe TV video - a deleted scene from The Peaceful Warrior - explains this better than I ever could. Have a look.
This month's wallpaper is all about Fresh Start - a clear view once you have taken trash out!
If you've been waiting to find out whether you are this month's Kimmidoll winner - wait no longer! Check if your name is to the right!
I was thrilled this month to have my first article accepted to a magazine - Living Now Magazine. It's all about the Law of Attraction and letting go of emotions - how appropriate! If you get a chance I would love you to have a read below and let me know what you think.
Glebe markets were a lot of fun last month - thanks to my trusty assistant Karen! We are planning to be down at Kiama Seaside Markets on the 18th July - so please do pop in if you are in the area.
Until next month, sending you positive vibes,

| Law of Attraction - A Contradictory View |

When I first sat down to write this article, I thought I had a fair idea of what I wanted to say, but the further I got into it, the more it dawned on me the enormity of this topic. The Law of Attraction (LOA), like most “theories”, has its devout followers, vehement opposer’s, those who don’t really get it and those who don’t really care. But underneath it all is an expectation that it could perhaps answer, or is trying to answer, one of our biggest questions ‘What is the Meaning of Life?’ And it doesn’t get much bigger than that.
A quick Google search (the fountain of all knowledge!) on the ‘The Law of Attraction’ reveals definitions such as: ‘that which is like unto itself is drawn; ‘thoughts influence chance’ and ‘thoughts (both conscious and unconscious) can affect things outside the head, not just through motivation, but by other means’.
As I couldn’t possibly address all the many facets of the LOA debate in one article, I’ll stick to the basic theory that “like attracts like”. I personally agree with this. That there is an energetic pull going on which is bigger than all of us and this brings things in and out of our experience in a way that is outside of our awareness most of the time. The part to me that is most misunderstood is that it is our ‘thoughts’ running the show. I believe it is a step deeper than this, I believe it is our feelings or our energy the Universe is responding to, and this makes a really big difference.
Many of the so-called ‘experts’ out there right now (and the fact that so many people are trying to make money from the LOA is one of the reasons it rubs a lot of people the wrong way…) will have us believe that we can manipulate or control the LOA by thinking certain thoughts, in a certain order, in a certain method, at a certain time of day. By writing lists, and having vision boards and focussing on what we want in the present tense. All in the name of manifestation – usually a shiny new car, a job or of course, a relationship. Are we really attracting something new into our lives – or just focussing on something that was already there in a new way?
Don’t get me wrong, there’s no doubt having a positive thought is a more joyous experience then having a negative thought, but if you are pushing down or ignoring strong emotions and ‘pretending’ to be positive on top of them… I don’t think this is really healthy or helpful. And here is a little tip: the Universe is pretty cluey and a bit like Santa, it knows who’s faking and who’s being real…
We came here as humans to experience all of life, the contrast as it were. The experiences we have come to term as ‘negative’ such as anger, grief or blame are all a natural part of life and play an essential part in our growth.
Do you really think you can talk yourself into a feeling? Feelings are intrinsic and hard to explain. Like being ‘in love’ – it just happens. You can’t make yourself fall in love. You can repeat positive affirmations over and over all you like – I am in love, I have a wonderful boyfriend, I am a magnet to love etc, etc… and they may make you feel better in the short-term – but I don’t really think they are controlling the universe.
I believe manifestation does happen. And it does happen as a result of the energy we are projecting. If you allow yourself to really feel your emotions, to move through them, whether “positive” or “negative” (and I know it’s much easier said than done), you will naturally start to manifest changes in your life.
Many, many people have found an improvement in their lives by following various teachings of The Law of Attraction – and I think this can only be a good thing. If a little day-dreaming and visualisation helps you to feel better and gives you hope – go for it - just be aware that while it is making you feel better – it’s not actually controlling anything.
