Hello Vibers!

Mother's Day is here again and while every Mum loves a great gift from her children, I think what she loves even more is spending time with her loved ones and having a cup of tea made for her or breakfast in bed - even better! So don't forget that part!

I also take a moment to think of those whose mother is no longer with them. One of my closest friends lost her Mum not all that long ago - and I know its a really hard time for her. Perhaps give them a call to let them know you are thinking of them.

We have a couple of new gift hampers especially for Mother's Day - and some new silver poetic jewellery pieces as well. We also have a cute new wallpaper this month - focusing on Togetherness to remind us of our families!

I don't know about you but I've had one of those months where I've bitten off more than I can chew and have sometimes felt a bit overwhelmed and frustrated. Happens to us all. I wanted to share with you my favourite poem for getting me through these times. It's called Don't Quit. I hope you get as much from it as I do.

On the theme of not giving up I also checked out Shawshank Redemption again this month to remember what all the fuss was about! - and got lost in another world reading Mao's Last Dancer an inspiring story about a Chinese ballet dancer now living in Melbourne.

I like everyone else couldn't help myself in checking out the You Tube video of Susan Boyle - Britain's Got Talent's latest star and Rock Your Vibe also joined the Twitter Craze! Check out my article below on Celebs who are using Twitter to make the world a better place!

WOW - Twitter just continues to grow and grow in popularity. Rock Your Vibe joined this month and was surprised at the amount of people Tweeting, Re-Tweeting and Following on Twitter (yes I am getting up to date on the lingo as well!)

Twitter has become very popular with celebrities and has been in the press a bit lately: think Ashton Kutcher's race to be the first with 1,000,000 followers; Lily Allen's constant Tweet-Wars with - well let's face it just about everyone - and didn't Jennifer Aniston pretty much break up with John Maher because he was Tweeting when he should have been calling her?

What hasn't been so widely recorded is the fact that some celebrities are using Twitter to send out positive messages to their fans.

As to be expected Oprah and Ellen DeGeneres are right up there with regular messages to their viewers - anything from movie recommendations through to giveaways or just warm fuzzy feelings. But hey Hugh Jackman, Demi Moore and Donnie Wahlberg (from New Kids on the Block are right up there!). Yoko Ono is still asking us to imagine and P Diddy loves to throw in a LET'S GO now and then.

I recently read an article that showed Twitter has been used as a really helpful tool in some significant international events recently.

During the terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India, in November last year Twitter was used by victims and witnesses to keep each other – and the whole world – up to date with what was going on. Similarly, the Victorian Country Fire Authority used Twitter during February's bushfire tragedy to keep those on the ground informed about the situation and the actions they needed to take. Both Kevin Rudd and Barack Obama also use Twitter.

So while some people may think Twitter is a waste of time - I kind of like the idea I can pop on at any time of the day, see what my mentors and idols are up to, get referred to some great articles, get a positive message or two and ok just maybe a cheeky bit of celebrity goss!
